SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 4 - EPISODE 1: ANNOUNCEMENT TRAILER

Yes it's true, was the title of the e-mail we received today and appears that SEGA's Project Needlemouse is actually be Sonic The Hedgehog 4 - Episode 1 . We've also got the first 'teaser' trailer and eagle eyed viewers will also be able to spot the WiiWare logo just at the end.

Looks great, but in 3D it doesn't look like Sonic is running fast, it looks like he's skating. Also, whatever happened to the new character they mentioned, Mr. Needlemouse? When a 3D Sonic in side scrolling adventure be classified as Sonic Rush (Dash) 3?

Mr Needlemouse was the codename for the original Sonic the Hedgehog on the Genesis/Megadrive before it was greenlit for release. The use of it as a character name was merely a nod back to that. So technically, he is in the game. Just that he's the same character as Sonic.
